Omni Cable Corporation (OmniCable) is proud to announce the expansion of its Belden inventory to now include PROFINET cables.

This is a new DataTuff product for Belden that was released to the public in January 2016. The new UL-rated, quad design cables provide Ethernet connectivity using open standard technology to easily connect devices across all systems for efficient factory automation.

“Belden’s PROFINET is a great addition for OmniCable because it will provide our customers quicker access to additional products required on the factory floor,” said Greg Donato, OmniCable’s Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Features of the cable include:

• Flexible – three cable options with ranges of flexibility, ruggedized with UL ratings, and allowing up to 5 million flexes
• Easy to install and use – quad design compatible with Belden’s entire PROFINET portfolio, including rugged metal body plugs (RJ45), as well as Siemens Fast Connect connectors
• Withstands harsh conditions – UL standards, including CMX Outdoor and PLTC, allow cabling to be used in Class I Div II hazardous areas, as well as outdoors, maximizing uptime even in harsh environments

Applications of the cable include:

• Automotive (and other) production lines and body shop applications
• Batch processes (fine/specialty chemicals) and continuous processes (bulk chemicals)
• Pumping Station Control (water/wastewater)
• Filling, packaging, and labeling applications (consumer products)
• Machine tooling (especially Type C)
